Spreading the Joy of Fundraising

We know from teachers that there is no greater feeling than being able to provide your students with resources and opportunities. When teachers create causes on PledgeCents, it is with the goal of doing just that. Teachers express how exciting it is to see investments to their cause, and what a great experience it is to tell their students that new supplies are on their way or a new field trip is being planned!
So why should teachers be the only ones who get to have this experience? While teachers are certainly on the front lines of education, they have lots of supporters cheering them on and looking for new ways to get involved. Also, how great would it be if students could receive more resources and opportunities without the teacher having to do it all alone! If not the teacher, you might ask, then who is going to lead this charge toward providing students with more? To answer this question, all we had to do was take a look at some of the traditional ways schools handle fundraisers and other school events.
Who helps plan class parties for elementary school classrooms? Who chaperones field trips, bring in food for potlucks and teacher appreciation breakfasts, and helps decorate for school dances? Who sells tshirts at lunch for the football booster club? The answer: parents and other community members. Parents and community members feel a deep investment in the education that their students are receiving, so why not let them help make this education even better?
Our secure verification and payment process allows anyone who wants to support students, classrooms, and schools to create a cause and raise funds on behalf of the school or organization. You heard that right! Anyone. What this means is that parents, PTAs/PTOs, or invested community members have even more power to help. When a teacher expresses a need, a parent can spearhead the fundraising efforts by creating the cause on PledgeCents. No matter who creates the cause, the funds are always distributed directly to the school or organization, and the administration is always aware of any fundraising efforts that are taking place.
Parents have been asking for this opportunity to take some of the burden off of the teacher, and we have delivered. We have piloted this approach with some awesome parents, and you can see a couple examples of these causes here and here.
To get started raising funds, all you have to do is sign up as a cause creator! Also be sure to shate this exciting new with parents, PTA members, and anyone else who wants to support students, classrooms, and schools. What are you waiting for?
