#Remind2Pledge: It takes a village.
It takes a village to raise a child.
Now through April 30th, you can win an iPad mini, a Kindle Fire, or a $50 Amazon by growing the village that supports the students in your classroom.
We know that your classroom extends far beyond your walls, windows, and doors. The students who flow in and out of your classroom day after day are all connected to family members, friends, and other members of the community.
To provide students with the best possible learning experiences, we believe that the classroom community needs to include not only the teachers and students but also parents, students from other classrooms, local businesses, and all the other stakeholders in education (which, as we see it, is everyone).
Together with our friends at Remind, we are making it easier to grow your classroom community!
Maybe for you this means hosting a family game night or putting on a class play and inviting the local business community. Maybe it means taking your students on a community service field trip or celebrating the end of standardized testing with parents and grandparents. Whatever it looks like for you, we want to help.
Create a cause on PledgeCents to raise funds for a your community-building cause, and use Remind to spread the word about it!
The 3 teachers with the biggest classes on Remind by April 31st will win prizes and the first 10 causes submitted will receive a special surprise from Remind!
Who is eligible? Anyone can create a cause that is raising funds for a K-12 school, education-focused non-profit, or PTA/PTO. If you work for or want to support one of these organizations, you may sign up your school or organization and create a cause.
What can I raise funds for? Anything that you think will help grow your classroom community.
How long is this all going to take me? Creating your PledgeCents and Remind accounts are both quick! You can create your cause in 10-15 minutes!
What if I already have a PledgeCents account? Simply include the phrase “it takes a village” somewhere in your cause description, and we will enter you into the campaign
What if I already have a Remind account? No problem! You can either start a new class or use your current class. We will use whatever is your largest class to pick a winner.
How do I grow my Remind class? When you sign up for Remind, you will be walked through the process. You can invited people via email or by having them send a text. It is easy!
Do I have to be signed up for both PledgeCents and Remind to be eligible? Yes! We are working together with Remind, and we believe their platform is a great way to spread the word about what is going on in your classroom.
When will the winners be announced? We will announce the winners via email on or around May 4th. We will mail out the prizes shortly thereafter.
How will I know if I am one of the first 10 causes in the campaign? We will be in contact via email! Be sure to sign up with an email you check regularly.
