5 Reasons To Post a Cause Right Now

The holiday season is almost here! We know you’re looking forward to some much needed R&R and (if you’re like us) hanging around in your pjs. But since we’re sure you still have some needs for your students, we’re here to tell you how to do that. It just happens that the best time for spending quality time around family and binge eating delicious food is also the best time to post a cause.

Here are 5 reasons why posting your cause now could make for an easy success.

1. Thanksgiving = Lots of Family Time

Thanksgiving is a time to be around loved ones and catch up on life. Let them know the great things that you are wanting to do for your classroom. Remember, asking them to share your cause can be just as powerful as an investment. Create some champions for your cause this Thanksgiving.

2. #GivingTuesday is Bigger than Ever

In case you didn’t know, December 1st is #GivingTuesday. Last year on GivingTuesday, non-profits raised $34.9 million online and this year should be ever bigger. So mark your calendars and get those emails, Facebook posts and Tweets ready (or ask our team for help crafting them) to take advantage of the #1 giving day.

3. Holidays are Filled with Giving

Did you know 31% of all donations happened in December? December is a time of giving and everyone is looking for that perfect gift and, more importantly, their last-minute tax deductions. Maybe a friend isn’t sure what to get you. Asking for help with your cause is a perfect way to help them decide and feel great about their gift!

4. All Eyes on An Hour of Code

For those of you looking to bring computer science into the classroom, December 7-13th is Computer Science Education week, which means a lot of attention to CS needs. And it’s clear from the $5 million Code.org raised last year that there are plenty of people that want to support and there’s no reason why you can’t get them to support you. Whether it’s a minecraftEDU license or a couple of chromebooks, get your cause up and running for the week that’s 100% dedicated to introducing CS to more students.

5. PledgeCents Loves Giving to Teachers

At PledgeCents, we love the holidays maybe a little more than the average person because it’s a time where we can say ‘thanks’ to all the teachers that have supported us. Last year we flash funded 15 causes (with over $10,000) and launched our #PackTheParty competition, and this year...well. Keep an eye for some news this Sunday to kick off the holiday season!
