Preferred Partner Highlight: Elesapiens
The Vision
In 2007 the FUESCYL Foundation commissioned a campaign to engage kids in science to coincide with the celebration of Charles Darwin’s anniversary. This was to be the first of many educational projects that Antonio Vega, the founder of Elesapiens, and his team developed for a variety of different organizations such as the Red Cross, UNESCO and Greenpeace.
When Antonio Vega recognized the power of using multi-media resources to educate children during these campaigns, he began to think of expanding similar effort to the world of education on a broader scale. Utilizing his communications experience gathered over the last 20 years, identifying the need for Science materials and understanding the growing importance of a bilingual education, he created Elesapiens.
The Product
Today Elesapiens is a leader in its field and continues to employ the latest technologies to create the most engaging, one-of-a-kind, bilingual multi-media resources for elementary and middle school students in Science.
Elesapiens has always understood the importance of quality with regards to EdTech product and looks to match curricula around the globe. Currently Elesapiens is aligned to many different curricula including the NGSS, one of the most advanced Science curriculum in the world. Thanks to this alignment Elesapiens provides resources that not only focus on content, but also on helping the students acquire and develop skills and competences as creativity, critical thinking, colavoration, research and communication.
Elesapiens is unique in the way it delivers its fun content and offers teachers the flexibility to choose the method that works best for them. Whether they choose to use the pre-constructed Learning Units or build their own collections, the resources are there to suit their needs. Be it videos, downloadable materials, glossaries, online games and quizzes, experiments, projects, and more, Elesapiens has what the teacher is looking for.
Elesapiens is very aware of how much content is available so it is important to stress that all content is produced in its original language by a highly qualified team of teachers, pedagogues and scientists devoted to improving education.

How do you utilize Elesapiens in your classroom? We use it as a partner activity in class. We watch videos as a whole group. We use the pdf materials for information. Also, I flip the classroom and they complete assignments from home.
What are the benefits? Elesapiens motivates students in their learning process. They can access from different devices no matter what. And the content is very well put together. I can complete one Elesapiens learning unit and literally it will cover three chapters of my Science book. It is clear.
Also, it saves me time looking for websites, games, technology pieces, etc. that match what I am teaching. Elesapiens is my place where I go to on the web for information about Science for my class. It covers my curriculum needs.
What would you say to another teacher who may be hesitant about trying a new #edtech product in their classroom like Elesapiens? I like how the content is encapsulated, it’s a lot more fluent than a text book, you can really create your own curriculum with it.
And children liked the interaction. Elesapiens is moving. It’s the doing, instead of being told “read and write”.
