[Press Release] PledgeCents and Kano Partner to Ensure Students Of All Ages Can Build Their Own Computers

The partnership aims to bring access to Kano’s creative education packages through the PledgeCents Marketplace

Philadelphia, PA – April 27, 2017 – WIn just its 8th month since piloting its partner program, PledgeCents, the fundraising site which helps to bring resources and opportunities to classrooms by alleviating funding needs, has added over 50 education partners and more than 100 products to its PledgeCents Marketplace. PledgeCents is excited to announce the newest partner, London-based Kano, whose coding packages include both hardware and software components, giving students the complete experience in an engaging way through coding art, music, Minecraft, and much more. The partnership enables teachers, coaches and administrators alike to gain access to the popular education packages by helping to offset the cost to get these tools into more students’ hands.

“Our goal is to ensure that we are offering a wide range of learning options for teachers that represent not only today’s needs, but also those that push the limits of what learning in the classroom looks like” said Andyshea Saberioon, CEO and co-founder of PledgeCents. “Kano’s innovative approach to computer science literacy caught our attention immediately. Through Kano’s curriculum, Students can learn the powerful code that runs ours computers, but also understand the tangible components that make up the computer itself. In today’s day and age, that’s a powerful idea and we are grateful to be able to join Kano in ensuring that cost doesn’t stand in the way.“

Through the partnership, teachers and schools will be able to utilize PledgeCents to seamlessly generate a fundraising page to cover the cost of a variety of Kono’s packages. Each education package comes with full curriculum support, training, and resources from the community to ensure quick implementation. The PledgeCents team works with each fundraiser to help raise the necessary funds and will purchase the plan immediately after the fundraiser ends and also connect the teacher to a member of Kano’s team to expedite the process. Anyone interested can visit http://www.pledgecents.com/signup/event/kano to create their own page today.

Kano’s Oliver Beach said “We’re excited to be partnering with Pledgecents to bring Kano to more learning spaces across the country. Kano is currently being used in over 1,000 education programs across the globe empowering young people with STEM skills and creative confidence.”
